POSITION:
Students in Temporary Housing (STH) Field Trip Chaperone - up to five (5) positions
LOCATION:
UFT Headquarters: 52 Broadway New York, NY 10004
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly licensed and appointed NYCPS supervisors
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience within the NYCPS.
- Experience in early childcare, preschool, elementary, middle school, and special education is preferred.
- Bilingual is preferred but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accompany minor shelter residents and school students to and from NYCPS sponsored field trips.
- Monitor students as they engage in activities.
- Provide meaningful activities for children from age five through twelve.
- Create a safe and caring environment.
- Be able to provide First Aid and CPR, if necessary.
- Provide care to children with special needs as required.
- Incorporate literacy and art-based activities.
- Monitor distribution of snacks and meals.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Saturday, November 23, 2024. Up to eight (8) hours. Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
