POSITION:
Site Supervisor – Office of Safety and Youth Development (Up to 4 positions)

LOCATION:
Various schools within District 29
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
NYCDOE licensed and appointed Supervisor with satisfactory service for the previous 5 years
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Knowledge of DOE’s Chancellor’s Regulations and the NYC Discipline Code
Experience with after school evening programs
Experience with Middle School at-risk student population
Able to work after program hours under emergency situations
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee trip and special events for the program.
Responsible for the safety of all children and for direct parent contact.
Work with parent associations, school principals, administrators, custodial personnel, outside city agencies, school safety agents, teachers and SAPIS on a daily basis.
Plan, coordinate, and implement special programs planned by the Office of Safety and Youth Development, such as bullying prevention, creative arts and special assemblies
Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of differentiated instruction. small group instruction, interdisciplinary instruction and using data to inform instruction
Demonstrated understanding of standards-based teaching, learning and assessment
Knowledge and experience with the Common Core Learning Standards and New York City Scope and Sequence
Supervise instruction, observe and evaluate teachers and all program staff
Responsible for completing Online Occurrence Reporting System (OORS) reports and communicating with school Principals
Work in collaboration with the program administrator pertaining to incidents, safety concerns related to program implementation
Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.
WORK SCHEDULE:
November 2024 – May 2025
Middle School, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm
No school holidays
(Up to 230 hours)
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
