Position Summary: The Community Schools Liaison - Adult Education will assist the principal and other school staff with the collection, review, and compilation of program support data and materials received from community-based programs. In addition, the Coordinator will support day-to-day community relations and data flow from school-based and community programs by assisting with analyzing data, identifying trends and patterns, and preparing reports and presentations. This work will also include corresponding with teachers, students, and community members for feedback on the daily operations of the program and outreach plans.  Performs related work.

 

Reports to: Adult Education Regional Principal

Directs Reports: N/A

Key Relationships: Regional and program-based staff, the Office of Community Schools, community-based organizations (CBOs), partners, parent/guardians, and students. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute an overall strategy, ensuring enrollment goal success at the assigned region.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with the Office of Community Schools, community leaders, local businesses, and other key stakeholders in the community served by the region.
  • Represent the region at key community events, recruitment fairs, and other community outreach events that will benefit enrollment.
  • Distribute marketing materials to community partners and schedule information meetings at their sites.
    Research, plan, and attend local events to reach prospective students.
  • Work with school leaders in planning school-based open houses, enrollment information meetings, and other school-based recruitment events.
  • Train, collaborate with and ensure accountability for school-based staff in recruitment activities.
  • Communicate with existing families to access their local networks to support recruitment goals.
  • Plan and facilitate opportunities for new students to get involved with the region to help secure their decision to enroll in classes.
  • Routinely reach out to prospective and newly accepted students to keep them engaged, excited, and informed about regional offerings.
  • Identify and submit school activities to Adult Education Central staff that depicts the region in a positive light to the community.
  • Track and analyze all data regarding student recruitment benchmarks and goals.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  2. High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above.  However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above.

 

Work Schedule: 

This is a 12 month, 35 hour per week annual assignment.  Position will require flexibility with respect to work hours in order to meet the needs of the school community, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.  Use of earned vacation and/or compensatory time is subject to approval of school principal.

Salary:

$60,733 (New Hire Rate)

$69,844  - $94,279 (Incumbent - 2 years of full-time continuous City service)
